It’s the cream of the crop. The most expensive housing is in that area. It’s also close to Central Park.

Yes - It’s very close to Central Park, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum as well as the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum. The area is also full of great restaurants - check citysearch. com for some ideas. If you’re up for a long walk, it’s very nice to meander through the park down to 59th St & 5th Ave where there’s a lot of great window shopping (especially during the holidays). You can take the 6 train downtown from either 96th St or 86th St & Lexington to any other place you’d like to go - that line goes to 59th St (stop at Bloomingdales, wander around the south end of the park or head down to west 57th St for upscale restaurants & shopping), 51st St (walk a few blocks southwest to St Patricks Cathedral & Rockefeller Center) Grand Central Station (a sight to see in itself, transfer here to other train lines, including the shuttle to Times Square), 32nd St (walk up to 34th & head west to the Empire State Building, Macy’s and Madison Square Garden), and further down, to Union Square (excellent farmers market, fun shopping & people watching), Astor Place (walk east to St Marks Place area for people watching, small shops, restaurants & bars) and Canal St (Chinatown).

Yes, but it’s full of yuppies. Also, expect to pay a lot of money.

It sure is. I’d stay near Madison Avenue. Madison is a good area and had good shops along it.

The neighbor is good . As far as all this nonsense about it being close to Central Park goes since you didn’t provide an address nobody can know how close you are to the Park If you’re located at 400 east 92nd then you’re about 3/4 of a mile away from the Park. Time to walk down to 86th st and take a crosstown bus

Let’s put it in this angle….if you are between 5th and Lexington Avenue, Central Park is nearby. If you are from 3rd to East End Avenue, the walkway/jogging path by Gracie Mansion is there. Either or you are in a nice, and yes EXPENSIVE area. M86 crosstown gets you either side.
