where is good place to park when i travel new york city by walking?

i’m trying to travel new york city by walking. and i need a good parking garage or place which is close to many tourist attraction in new york city (like times square, central park,chrysler building …etc.)

oh and what is good route to visit those place by walking? including riding bus,taxi….

i really thank you guys for answering…

    I do not know many places to park in, but I do know of double-deck tour busses going through the city. They make the experience better because you can see the city on top of a bus in a seat while listening to a tour guide. It is a much better experience than walking through the city, as I noticed it can be very hectic and bad areas come out of nowhere. Times Square is breathtaking to see though

    Catch a bus in New Jersey and get off in NY city to start your walk.

    There are parking garages on seemingly every block in NYC. It will cost ~$50 for overnight parking. I stayed at the Hilton on Ave of the America’s a couple weeks ago - cost $42 to park overnight for a guest.

    You DO NOT need a car in NYC. Walk, taxi or subway is the best way to get around. I’d suggest parking somewhere around Times Square - it’s fairly central to everything.

    Taxi rides aren’t that expensive. The subway is very safe.

    The guy who suggested parking in Virginia stole my line - I was going to say New Jersey.

    There is usually inexpensive parking as you park closer to the river (Hudson and East). Prices will pick up as you park closer to the tourist/Broadway/5th Avenue areas. I have no problems parking near the river areas, however you should note the area (are there many tourists or pedestrians). The less pedestrians, the more vigilant you should be when going back or take a taxi back to the garage.

    Also, street parking is another alternative. However, read the meters and signs.

    New Jersey (no joke). Park across the street from the Pavonia-Newport PATH train station…$1.50 and 15-20 minutes will get you into either downtown or midtown Manhattan.
