I am going though chemotherapy right now and my parents have been absolutely wonderful and supportive and incredibly helpful in caring for me. So, now that I’m almost done with treatment, I would like to give them a present and I thought a weekend getaway for just them so they can relax and not have to worry would be really wonderful. Anyone have any suggestions for any good weekend getaway vacations in upstate new york or new england in the fall.

How about a train ride someplace where the leaves are turning colors. I heard there is a place up there or in Pennsylvania that is famous for the fall leaves changing to beautiful colors and a train that take people through the area. I don’t know what the place is called. My mom once told me she went there.

I went to the White Mountains of New Hampshire several years ago during the fall color, and it was absolutely beautiful! Lots of waterfalls there too.

I live in Vermont and the leaves are changing now and they are very pretty. Some of the places that I would recommend would be the Inn at Weston, in Weston, VT, The Cortina Inn, in the Killington Area, The Applewood Manor, in Castleton, VT, and the Panorama Motel, in Hampton, NY. some of the place that would suggest they see and do would be the Vermont Country Store in Weston, the gondola ride in Killington, The Hubbardton Battle Field & Monument near Castleton, VT. Let me know if I can help you with anymore places to stay and things to do here in VT.
