September Weather:
* Average High: 76°F (24°C)
* Average Low: 61°F (16°C)
* September continues to be a warm month in New York City, but many of the summer crowds have left and evenings can be a bit cooler as the month wears on.
What to Wear:
* pack an umbrella
* a sweater or waterproof jacket (for keeping warm in the evenings)
* closed toe shoes, comfortable for walking and water-resistant, if possible
September Perks:
* most days it’s cool enough to enjoy a walking tour
* summer crowds decrease, particularly families, as children return to school
* September is still warm enough and early enough in the fall to avoid the price hikes for peak travel
September Cons:
* subways and streets can be uncomfortable in the heat
* most summer activities have ended
Good to Know:
* September can still be quite warm in New York — pack accordingly.

Well… -That depends on what part of the State you’re visiting. In MOST places, it’s in the low 70s during the day, the high 40s at night… -with 2 or 3 showery days a week.Quite nice- usually. HOWEVER, it’s ALSO the middle of Hurricane Season along the Coast- if you plan to spend any time out on the Island (Long Island- that is), you might want to have a quick Escape Plan at hand- just in case. You DON’T want to be on the Island- when its OWN version of Katrina hits. Happy Vacationing!
