Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Detroit, St. Louis– all major places African Americans traveled in the Great Migration. Why?
I know that they wanted to go to the North. So I don’t need that. But why those specific places?

I m planning a trip to NY city, anyone know any good hotels in NY, or in NJ– closer towards NY city? If I stay in New Jersey, how long will it take me to get to times square or JFK airport? Does the New york water taxi stop in New Jersey?

We are traveling from Williamsburg to New York and I’m looking for the fastest way to get there. I know that I can drive but it’s a heck of a long drive and I was hoping their might be commuter flight that someone could recommend? If so, what airports do you suggest in VA? And do you have an idea of how long the flights normally are?

Your help is appreciated.

I am planning a family trip (April or May) to NY that will include watching MLB games at both Shea and Yankee Stadium, visiting Central Park, World trade Center, etc. All of this will be packed into a 4 day trip. We are hoping to keep the prices reasonable. We have never been to New York, nor have we ever visited.

I could use some help on the following:
> Where to stay?
> What sites to see?
> Preferred methods of travel between sites?

Thanks in advance for your efforts.

My girlfriend and I are planning on flying out to Boston, getting a car, and travelling up the coast to New York to fly back to Denver. I’m looking for any ideas “off the beaten path” to see/do, and also, what is the best/cheapest way to plan this itinerary? She’s never been to the East Coast, so I really want to make it a memorable trip. Our time frame is 1-1/2 weeks.
